The guy on the left with the tatoo came up to a protester and
expressed interest in the leaflet. Soon thereafter, a senior clam
passed by and shouted "Don't read that!". I sure hope the
tatoo'ed gentlemean was comfortable with being told what not to read,
I wouldn't be...
After we arrived, body-routing picked up (maybe they had been on
luch-break when we arrived at 13:15? all six of them?). The guy on the
right with the shades was the one who came out right when we
arrived and shouted that we were Criminals! Later, he
mellowed out, somewhat.
Our senior protester did a great job of gathering signatures for a
petition against aggressive and deceptive selling techniques. People
would come up to all the protesters and say "is there somewhere I can
sign a petition?." This time, there was.
Lady clam in the center is another new face (well, new to us). On the
right, we get a terrific shot of the back of the T-shirt of the
shouting clam. It's lucky we passed by with a Xemu leaflet, otherwise
no-one would have known why there is a volcano of the T-shirt.
Dave with anti-TR shades and informational leaflet.
This is the guy who chatted with me for something like an hour. He was
convinced that the scientific method consisted of making a prediction
and the experimental proof was observing the expected result. Someone
should tell these people about blind testing and the Placebo effect...
A whole cluster of clams. The one on the right is rumoured to be the
new person in charge of the mission. She and the photographing clam
(see pictures from previous protests in Poole), asked for, and got,
the last Xemu balloon when we left.
This was the classic "deep up-stream" leaflet distributor. She was
stationed far up the high street from the protest, and was (partly)
responsible for the large number of Dianetics leaflets in the
trash-bins and on the High Street... (In her defense, I must say that
the picture was taken as a walk-by snap - she only just saw the camera
before I took the picture, and hardly had time to put on a photogenic
expression.)
